Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how the Vorion platform may be used by merchants and participants. This policy is part of, and incorporated into, the Vorion Terms of Service. By using the Vorion platform, you agree to comply with this AUP.
The purpose of this policy is to protect Vorion, its users, and the integrity of the platform. Violations of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
2. Permitted Use
The Vorion platform is designed to facilitate group payment coordination for legitimate business transactions. Permitted uses include:
- Merchants creating bills for legitimate goods, services, activities, or experiences they provide
- Participants joining and paying their share of a bill for goods, services, activities, or experiences they are receiving or participating in
- Merchants using QR codes and payment links generated by Vorion to collect payments from groups
- Merchants viewing their bill history and payment status through the merchant dashboard
3. Prohibited Activities
3.1 Merchants Must Not Use Vorion To:
- Collect payments for goods, services, or activities that are illegal under New Zealand law or the laws of any applicable jurisdiction
- Create fraudulent or fictitious bills not tied to a genuine transaction
- Collect payments significantly exceeding the actual value of the goods or services provided
- Process payments for the sale of prohibited or restricted items, including but not limited to: illegal drugs or controlled substances, weapons or explosives, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Facilitate money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other form of financial crime
- Operate a business that is not properly licensed or registered where required by New Zealand law
- Create bills that misrepresent the merchant, the goods or services being offered, or the nature of the transaction
- Use the platform to collect personal debts, peer-to-peer transfers, or any transaction that does not involve a legitimate merchant-to-customer relationship
- Attempt to circumvent Vorion's fee structure or Stripe's terms of service
- Share or transfer merchant account access to unauthorised individuals
3.2 Participants Must Not:
- Use stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorised payment methods
- Attempt to reverse, dispute, or initiate chargebacks on legitimate transactions in bad faith
- Impersonate another person when joining a bill
- Attempt to exploit, interfere with, or disrupt the payment coordination process
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform without prior written consent from Vorion
3.3 All Users Must Not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Vorion platform, other user accounts, or any connected systems
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code to the platform
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Vorion platform
- Use the platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation or interfere with other users' experience
- Collect or harvest personal information from other users of the platform
- Use the platform to send unsolicited communications or spam
4. Restricted Industries
Vorion reserves the right to decline or restrict service to merchants in certain industries or business categories. In addition to Stripe's own restricted business list (which applies to all merchants using Stripe), Vorion may restrict use by merchants operating in:
- Adult entertainment or sexually oriented services
- Gambling, betting, or lottery services (unless fully licensed in New Zealand)
- Cryptocurrency or virtual currency exchanges
- Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
- High-risk financial services
This list is not exhaustive, and Vorion reserves the right to assess and restrict merchants on a case-by-case basis.
5. Compliance with Law
All use of the Vorion platform must comply with applicable New Zealand laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- The Fair Trading Act 1986
- The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
- The Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act)
- The Privacy Act 2020
- The Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015
- Any industry-specific regulations applicable to the merchant's business
Merchants are solely responsible for ensuring their use of Vorion complies with all laws and regulations applicable to their business.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any activity on the Vorion platform that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us at voriontechnologies26@outlook.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
7. Enforcement
Vorion reserves the right to investigate any suspected violations of this AUP and to take appropriate action, which may include:
- Issuing a warning to the offending user
- Temporarily suspending access to the platform while an investigation is conducted
- Permanently terminating the user's account
- Withholding, freezing, or reversing payments where permitted by law or Stripe's terms
- Reporting illegal activity to relevant New Zealand authorities, including the New Zealand Police, the Financial Markets Authority, or the Commerce Commission
Vorion may take enforcement action at its sole discretion. In urgent cases, we may suspend access before completing an investigation. Where possible, we will notify the affected user and provide an opportunity to address the concern.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. For material changes, we will notify merchants via their registered email address. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
